My name is Asmita Shah and I have a passion for math, science, and technology. I go to Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology, the number one country in the country. I have won the top 10% award for the Toshiba Exploravision competition in which my group and I created a new technology plan for a new fuel technology wheel.

I’ve been going to Medical Society and Lincoln Doulgas Debate in my school. In Lincoln Douglas Debate I have reached the Junior Varsity Level and have competed in many WACFLS. I also went to national conferences like the Harvard competition and this summer I will be attending the VBI debate camp in California. I have done Girl Scouts since I was in 5th grade and have done countless hours of community work. In addition I received honorable mention in the National Spanish Exam.

My academic achievements

  • I have received a 500 dollar grant for my charity Food for Good to donate to Hutchison School. This taught me good leadership skills and communication skills with my various presentations and local elementary schools for donations.
  • I have done a year long experiment with a group of 4 people which has taught me both commitment and team work, along with winning a prize for developing a technology component.
  • I have MC’d for many annual days which shows my skill to speak to a large audience.
  • Since 5th grade I have been doing Girl Scouts and I am now a junior girl scout doing a lot of community work. I also have volunteered for making a dinner for 100 people with my girl scout troup.
  • A hobby of mine is Lincoln douglas debate. I am in the junior varsity level and have competed in the Harvard National Competition.
